Infussion

Since the manufacture of the mis-matched veneers seems to be uncooperative, I've been seeking out other solutions. One is to simply stain the lighter veneers to match the darker, but this may not produce satisfactory results.

Another option to is infuse the veneer with dye. This means using a vacuum chamber to force the dye deep into the cell structure of the veneer, which should produce a more natural looking result. In this case, "natural looking" is all important since the unaltered veneers will only be clear coated.

The draw back with infusion is that I have found only on article about it at all. So I'll be essentially writing the manual as I go.

I'll try using straight stain first. If that doesn't work, things will get interesting.
