The Cutting Begins

While I await the electricians, which should begin their rough-in work on Wednesday, it's time to start cutting material. I spent Thursday and Friday gathering lumber from the various sources needed for a project like this. There is still more to get, but plenty to do for the time being.

This project involves 48 sheets of 4' x 8' of plywood, which need to be cut down into the various smaller parts. There are over 200 different wood parts of different materials and sizes for this project, with many having multiple incarnations (one part needs to be replicated 64 times!).

Today I started with the 3/4" maple plywood sheets. There are 18 of them. Each with a different distribution of parts. Each sheet needs to be hoisted onto the cutting table (some weigh more than 100 pounds each), measured, marked and cut, then all the parts get stacked.

Eventually those parts will need to be sorted and prepped further before assembly. But for the next couple days, I'll be spending most of my time just cutting out.
